Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful March so far. Busy over here..which is good, and I managed to create a new recipe to enter in Nate & Salli's recent contest over at
theydrawandcook.com. I had a great time painting this. Perhaps it comes from my love of french bread, melted cheese, and France! Have a look at all of the wonderful entries so far..the
contest is open to US residents and is still open until the 25th of March...hurry! : ) Now back to work for me, and off to visit all of you - I am so delayed and I send my apologies. Hope you're all working on some fun projects everyone!! Thanks for visiting! ~ Shirley

ReplyDeletelove it Shirley! I saw it on there yesterday, I think... You did a wonderful job on this. It is really precious.
ReplyDeleteWe have a WINNER here, folks! Woooowoooooooo!!! Mon Dieu, I love a good Croque Monsieur. Your recipe sounds delicious. I don't know what's making my mouth water more -- the sandwich or your gorgeous painting! The expressions and gestures of the wee French mice are fantastic! Love the rising steam curling and the pot of purple lavender. Forget Thin Mints. I want your sandwich!
ReplyDeleteHave a delicious and wonderful weekend! xo
I wish I could visit this little store... its very sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to France, but I do share your love of french bread and melted cheese. This is such a beautiful and adorable illustration! The little mice in their french hats, priceless! And the scene inside the shop window is just wonderful, with so many great details.
ReplyDeleteone word, awesome!!

ReplyDeleteGreat work Shirley. This took me straight back to wonderful times and meals in France. Thanks for your visit the other day.
ReplyDeleteHeh well someone has to be late to the party - I guess this time it's me!!! So you had a great time painting this? You know what? You can really tell! The image just o0zes fun - it's like you've put some of yourself into each creature you draw. And you really really nail those faces and body language - they're all alive - and just hanging out for their Croque Monsieur - it's a crackup, that's one of the things I learnt in French - how to desribe a Croque Monsieur ... Deux tranches de pain -- but I was never any good at it - and I never got to eat one - but now I have the recipe :) See you, good luck! I'm sure you don't need it!
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic Shirley! You're a shoe in!! : ) xx
ReplyDeleteAhhhh... so wonderful! Sounds de-lish! Love the blues!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I keep looking at all of the darling details. So wonderful!
