Ugh, something is won with my keyboard. It keeps jumping. I lost many comments already not just here. Anyway, I was saying that I LOVE your illustration. Oh a white rhino. Once when we were in Austin, a rhino farted in the pool and we heard the water bubble!!!
Your chick is so cuuuuute. You always manage to make your animals so adorable. I cannot help recall the day I beheaded a chick, of course by accident. My sister did too. I was in high school and she was in college. We were all home for the summer and doing our gardening chores. It was a family event and so were were all out there. I was in charge of tilling the plot with a hoe. We had chickens and ducks. They loved to scratch the dirt and pick the worms. Our parents told us to be careful. Just as I hit the dirt with the hoe blade, a little chick ran towards the plot. OH BOY! My father got very mad at me. So mad. Then ut happened to my sister too. Father was so mad. He reprimanded us and I argued and yelled at him but my sister, she is very gentle and respectful, she cried and she said she was sorry. Still my father kept talking angrily at how reckless we were. My mother told him that it was an accident. Everyone got mad at me for yelling at my father but my sister she cried and she packed up and returned to her nursing college dorm. I remember her walking towards the jeep. Oh I can see the volcano in the background and the mountain range. Then when she got to her dorm, she phoned home and cried on the phone to my mother. Oh boy.
That happened a long time ago. It is a sweet memory now. I learned to be more respectful and I loved my father very much but overtime I see a chick, I remember that incident.
Shirley hello!!! :) Thought of poping over and say hi and how lovely your new illustration is...whatever animal you illustrate it turns out simply adorable and very 'Shirley' cute :)Love Rhino's rosy cheeks! Have a great week1 xox
Ahhh Shirley there is so much tenderness in that scene. My daughter as a little girl loved Rhinos but shop made cards were often quite fierce with them on....this sweet image would have worked so well. He is such a sweet chick too. This has put a smile on my face for the day ahead. Have a lovely week, Jane x
Oh my goodness! Shirley! This is one of the most wonderfullest things I have ever laid my eyes on! Great (adorably sweet) characters. Wonderful perspective and amazingly done!
That is the sweetest looking Rhino I've seen in a while. And, that little Chip is so cute... can I borrow him to art direct some of my projects?! Such a lovely illustration. :)
Shirley, can I say I just want to bring Rocky and Chip home with me! Oh my, are they adorable! The perfect partners in crime and little Chip looks like a formidable director! Another winner, lady! :)
Haha Shirley, only you could make a rhino art director so believably tremddously vociferously cute. Only you! It's a wonderful touch the bird on the shoulder, the way the bird is excited and looking at the drawing, and the rhino looking so happy - in short, how the interact with each other :) Gee, I feel all clucky now!
