Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Did you know that a common mammal in Ireland is the hedgehog?
Have a wonderful celebration to all who celebrate this day...
I'll be wearing a bit o' green! : )
...and I hope everyone has a great weekend and week ahead!

    1. correction: own unique style . . . the comment was meant as a complement. I reread it and realized I should have phrased it a bit better.

  3. Next to pigs hedgehogs are my fave creatures Shirley. We often call them hedgepigs and find them rooting around on hot summer's nights. Your drawing is just super cute. Happy St.Patrick's day too. Have a lovely weekend.

  6. So sweet, I love that blue. Every time I see it I think how much I love it. My daughter has a hedgehog and Myles has never "met" him, but is so obsessed with them. Everything is a hedgehog or a porcupine. He brought in one of those little prickly balls that come from Sycamore trees and said "look, I found a hedgehog"

  9. Great. Love the shades. I didn't know that even hedgehogs love watercolors. Well, one never stops learning.

Thanks for stopping by and even following, you've made my day with it. Have a great new week.

  10. Your are one of the few illustrators I truly admire. I think the hedgehog looks creepy in real life but you managed to make it look adorable. The print of the three bears on a life boat is soooooo adorable on your business card. gosh Shirley, you are truly a classic watercolorist. Your technique is perfect. It is both pleasant and pleasing to children and adults alike. My daughter appreciated every image she saw in your card and at one point mentioned something that sounded like this "Mom, can you do this?" I humbly replied "No." But I have a great consolation. You are my friend and I am yours. Thank you!!! Tsup!!!

  18. Oh don't you just love adorable Irish Hedghogs? Well I do now that I have seen your drawing of them :) Oh boy, this sings because of the way the mum and the child are looking at each other, the facial expressions again make me all gooey and clucky (which is dangerous) , But seriously, you've captured the moment here. Happy Belated Saint Patrick's Say! :)
