Hoppy March!

Can you believe it? The Easter bunny is coming to town and it sure does feel like Spring around here. Happy Friday everyone! Swing on over to my group blog, www.welovetoillustrate.com to check out all of the bunnies..the ladies have done a wonderful job!

I've been nostalgic for those sugar panoramic eggs and decided to try to paint one for this month's contribution.  I had such fun painting this piece!

Here's a close up:

Here's the flat scene:

and here's the sugar egg shell:

With the magic of Photoshop, I created the simulated 3-D effect.

Hope you enjoy your month of March ahead everyone! ~ Shirley

  5. Hello, Sugar! Ces is right. I wish this was at Williams Sonoma so that I could have it in my house. I'd probably just keep licking it. And then nibble on those adorable critter ears. Except duckie. Duckie got no ears. Maybe I'll suck on its bill. So cute!!!! Good to see you back online. March on, and happy Friday to you!

  12. Hi, Shirley! Just wanted to say thanks for the visit and support as well. I share the same spirit of creativity as you, and I truly think it's an amazing time to be alive as artists and creatives from all around the world can keep touch with each other and learn from one another. So it's definitely important for for us to keep up that support of one another as much as our 'normal' lives allow, especially when keeping in touch is just a click away. I also wanted to thank you for the referral of that book, I am placing my order now and look forward to learning a lot from it. And if there was one thing I learned from the SCBWI conference, it's that writing is RE-writing. So enjoy the re-writing because it's as much a part of the process, if not more, than the actual first draft :)
