Happy July! Let's have a picnic everyone!

Wow, July already...amazing! On July 3, my littlest turns 9 (gulp!)....it's shocking. I remember when she was born and I watched fireworks with my newest little bundle of love. Anyhoo...as the fourth of July approaches, and summer's finally here, we at We Love to Illustrate for Children, have just posted our "picnic" challenge. The ladies all did a fantastic job..it was so fun to see what everyone came up with. We'd love for you to join in on the fun...have a look here.

This is a small snippet of my picnic illustration. You know how eldest siblings can be, right? Well, I remember wanting dessert before dinner, heck even lunch for that matter, poor baby bunny - he just wants a swipe of that carrot cake!

THANK YOU all for your visits and comments..they really make my day and it is a joy to be able to see your words and visit all of you, too...thank you my friends!

Have a wonderful July ahead!

  8. Shirley, I do not know how to say in English, but in Castilian is noted when an drawer is good because "plant" (something like the situation either on the ground and space) very well to their "monkeys" (we say monkeys to the characters in your drawing).
Well, your plants very well to your monkeys. They are always in the right place, sitting or standing.
It's always a pleasure to see your illustrations.

  12. Thank you, Shirley, Thank you,
I've had a tough week, and your words really made me happy,
Sometimes what we say is not well understood, especially in my case that I does not write in English, and always depend on this translator from Google. Then when I explain something I'm not sure that what I say is right.
I'm glad because there is someone who cares a little bit what I said.I do not think I am someone who knows everything, but what little I know I like to share.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate very much what you tell me on my blog. I have in mind your words because I know you're a person who knows a lot.

  17. I like listening to music. My favorite classical piece is Peer Gynt Suite. I listen to all kinds of music except rap but Beck has a rap album and it's tolerable. I love Pink Floyd. The painting I call "The Vaticinating Moon" was painted while I listened to Pink Floyd's song "Wearing The Inside out", I believe about 250 times... I can't stand television, in fact I downright detest it. When my husband was out of town, he asked me to watch an episode of 24 for him. I told him, he can record it and I found out, the entire show may be viewed on the website 24 hours later. It was almost torture, for me to sit there and actually listen to the dialogue so I can tell him the story. The things I do for love...

  18. Heheheheh! I am a recent Pink Floyd convert, compared to my husband who watched concerts and has been listening to them since Relics. But I am a quick study. Oh Yes Pigs and Dogs and Sheep! Hahahaha! Just below the header of my blog is a music bar and it is Pink Floyd's "Us and Them". Don't be mislead by talk of classical music. I only love them because I am such a hopeless romantic. Peer Gynt Suite is by Schubert. You may have heard it before, especially "In the Halls of the Mountain King." But my favorite part is Ase's Death. Very hauntingly sad. I cry when I listen to music but I also cry when I hear Ella Fitzgerald sing "All The Things You Are."

  24. AAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKK! I was sleepy last night I did not know what I was talking about. I just read your comment. OMG Peer Gynt Suite is not by Schubert. It is by Edvard Grieg!!! It is Norwegian, which is why I love it so much because my MIL was Norwegian, thus I call hubby The Viking! My favorite of Schubert's is Ave Maria. I am so glad you listened to the music. Now I realize Peer Gynt is not even in my iTunes library! So now I will add it. What a great birthday party, it sounded like. Aaw shucks, no food fight near the pool. Hahahahaha! I bet you are tired. Have a great night of rest and sleep.
