Hey Shirley. I have but one word for you OUI! I think that is yes in French....lol Yes to a wonderful piece of artwork. Lovely as usual! I love Monsieur Olivet! He rocks!!! Hey I tried to get to your blog from the illustration friday thumbnail, but it wouldn't let me... but I found my way here :O)
Gorgeous work Shirley! I love the way you used color to single out Monsieur Olivet from the blur of activity. And all of the little details are wonderful.
Very cool and sketchy...Monsieur Olivet strikes me as someone adventurous and refined...and this illo shows both sides!!
I have a question though, rather seek your advice: how do you get illos to look so naturally done? How do you add that extra zing (perhaps it is the depthI'm talking about) to ALL your illos?!!!
Your style is beautiful to see, like your dash, the colors, everything, you have a huge talent ... I'm following you with praise;) ... hehehe congratulations
Shirley, you just make my heart leap each time I view one of your illustration. I call you the EVOKER! You know how to create a mood in a scene and it's amazing and awesome all at the same time!! I really love Mr. Mouse. He is the character indeed. I really, really love these two pieces. They are stellar!!!
I have checked all your blog's illustrations: YOU are GREAT! I have just adopted one of your bookmark from ETSY! I can't wait until I get it! I love the way you use watercolour, your brilliant ideas, and the stile of your sketches: you are my hero! ^-^ I hope to be able to improve and become as good as you are. Hugs, Eva
