Say this Ten Times Fast.....She Sells Seashells by the Seashore....but did you ever wonder WHY?

I think she's one smart cookie!

Did you know that:
Beluga whales are classified as "Nearly Threatened"
Green Sea Turtles are "Endangered"

However small of an act, whether it's picking up your own garbage after you've enjoyed a day at the beach, or donating to efforts such as the World Wildlife Fund, we can make a difference for the living creatures we share this planet with.

  2. She sells seashells by the seashore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck
If a woodchuck could chuck wood?
He would chuck, he would, as much as he could,
And chuck as much as a woodchuck would
If a woodchuck could chuck wood.

    :)

  6. Aww this is so very cute! Love the whale and your colors are wonderful :o)

One thing I thought I should mention, you might want to post your images much smaller and "saved for web". When I click on them they are really big. Just in case the mean, mean, mean people out there who think they can just take lovely illustrations like yours and do with them what they please.

  8. You know, I never did stop to think why anyone would sell seashells at the seashore. Hmmm....

I like your environmental message. I often go to the Warren Dunes in Michigan every summer, and am routinely appalled by the amount of trash left behind by beach-goers. It's heart breaking. Those dunes are so precious yet people just want to enjoy themselves at its expense. Anyway, Shirley, another beautiful illo filled with lightness and spirit! Looking forward to more from you!

  9. Hi! Me again :o)

Yes, that dpi is way too high. What I usually do is go on image size in Photoshop and change the image's size to maybe 500 px wide. Then I take that and do a "safe for web", that changes it to 72dpi and if you print it out you'll see the resolution is not too good. That's the whole point. But on the web the images will still look great. :o)

I love the birds eye view of all the little cuties at the beach. Even the sign is fantastic. And the little one waving at the wales, well, that's just priceless!
