lovely work! it has so much texture and the colors stand out better than the digital version! it's not that your digital work isn't beautiful, but I think this is more adorable! :)
I personally have always liked hand made originals better than digitals. They just have a more personal feel to them. Thanks for getting back to me about trading! I know what you mean.. I feel busy trying to keep up with illustration friday too! In fact I think I have missed a couple already.. oops!
I prefer the color palette from the digital version and think it functions better as a whole. I like the idea to do the same illustration in 2 completely different styles.
Great comments everyone - thank you Silver Knight, Squirrel Girl, Karen, it's wonderful to gather feedback about these - it was such an interesting process trying to work on the two different styles. I realize that there are bits of both pieces that I like better than the other..I have a lot to work on (practice, practice, practice)..but this has been great to get through this week. I appreciate your feedback - have a great rest of the week and I look forward to hearing from you again, S
I don't know quite how I missed this last week, but I really like your illustration. That's so what books do--open this wonderful, vibrant, alive world.
I like the watercolor version better too. There's more texture in it. The colors in the other seem just a little too flat to me.
