I have been a huge admirer of
Geninne's artwork for many years now. Geninne is a multi-talented artist whose beautiful botanicals, animals and birds grace paintings, prints, textiles, leather items, home goods, stationery and more. I don't know her personally, but through the internet I have come to think of her as a giving and genuine person who simply loves to create and celebrate her family and beautiful surroundings. She's been an inspiration! One day, I decided to paint some birdies in her style, though she puts me to shame. Robins are aplenty right now and we are so lucky to enjoy these wonderful birds here in California. There's a birdbath just outside my kitchen window, so every once in awhile, I'll spy 4 or 5 and at most I've counted 7 robins enjoying a dip in the water. The little blue birdie is something outta my head..just for fun. Boy, I really enjoyed painting these..especially trying the white painted feathers. Hope you enjoy these little ones..they are sending a happy thought your way.

ReplyDeleteCool, thanks for sharing her work. By the way, I like the soft textures on the bigger birdie's chest. Very feathery!

ReplyDeleteHahahaha, at first, I thought these little birdies were her work and I was thinking, hmmmm, looks mighty similar to Shirley's work. And lo and behold, it IS your work! Wow, she's a fabulous artist. Thanks for the introduction. I must say, though, you are a wiz with the paintbrush. Your birds are beautiful! Not many robins or bluebirds by my window. But lots of hummingbirds. :) Have a great weekend!
