  52. I sure remember the Jetsons (and their cool modes of transportation!) Yours is adorable!
I haven't been posting (or visiting) much lately, so I read some of your previous posts that I had missed and wanted to comment on your post about the conference you attended. First, thank you for your detailed description, I find these smaller conferences very informative and a great way to connect with other illustrators. I like the format of this one, lots of opportunities for illustrators to get feedback on their work.

But I also wanted to let you know that I think your work is terrific: cute indeed, but also warm, delicate, creative and charming. I've been to events similar to yours, where one has a chance to have a portfolio review or some one on one time with an agent or art director. And it is a personal thing, for sure. I could see how my work just didn't seem to resonate with some of them. I would show the same material to two different people and get very different reactions. So Vanessa is right, keep doing what you love -- you can see by all the comments you get how much people enjoy your work! It's just a matter of time until you find the right agent/editor/art director!

  58. Hi Shirley, I wanted to ask you some questions about watercolor. I wanted to buy some watercolors and then when I bought the brush, one of them cost $120.00!!! Are the brushes that expensive? Ugh! Is these something less expensive for a beginner? Wishing you a good week.
