Good habits with these little readers!

Good habit #1: Visit the library!
Good habit #2: Share a book with a friend.

THANK YOU!
I am so honored to have received the very special Deborah Award recently from the one and only Ces. Ces, you are a gem! Your wit, your zest for life, your amazing art make you truly unique..and your friendship is something I cherish. Thank you, my nutty friend! I am so honored to receive such a wonderful award in honor of Deborah who is a wonderful friend of Ces's who embodies courage, hope, and faith. She has inspired and encouraged so many in this blogosphere and it is a delight to visit her and Milo. Please visit if you can!

Thank you also, to Susan, and Karen W. for the honor of the Deborah Award, and also for the Renee Award, Karen. I am humbled and honored by the awards as they symbolize these amazing women. You ladies are such wonderful people who spread love and friendship through your visits and posts. I am grateful to have "met" you and call you friends. Thank you!

  15. I love going to the library and sit down on the floor leaning on the bookshelf but the librarian always tells me to sit on the chair so I stopped going there and go to Barnes and Noble instead. Actually I could just stay at home and read all these books. It will take me more than my lifetime to finish them. I love books and our house is filled with them. I even have a book about books! I love the gilded edges, the leather covers and gold trims. I love the different types. I love the smell of printed books. Books are everywhere in my house except the bathrooms. I refuse to have books taken to the bathroom. Someone once did that and I threw away the book. Oh and I do not like paperbacks. You deserve all of these blog awards. All of them!

  43. Hey Shirley! Just been 'round visiting a bit, when your comment came in - so great to hear from you, thanks a bunch for your visit! Yes, I am SO excited but very saturated with information. Please do click on the links whenever you get a moment, especially Marla Frazee, she is incredibly gifted. I bought a couple of her books that she signed. She also works in watercolor! I've been studying the 'Clementine' series she illustrated for early chapter books by Sara Pennypacker - all pen and ink, which is something I have to work on to develop the black and white portion of my portfolio. Well, thanks for your cheers Shirley, but I'm afraid you'll have a long wait to see my picture book, that's quite a ways in the future! And as for my 'good and evil' exercise, HA, that's long since gone to a landfill somewhere in MA!

Missed you too - hope you're doing well! xoxo
